John J. Jordan, son of Alexander Jordan, who was the son of William Jordan, moved from Tennessee to Cole County (later Moniteau County), Missouri in 1837. He purchased land in the vicinity of High Point and remained there until his death in 1882. He was married to Jane Duke, who was born in South Carolina in 1803. Descendants and relatives lived in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, California, Arkansas and elsewhere. Also includes ancestry of related families.
