To get to know in greater detail the history of Opus Dei and its founder: to get to know the central characters, what its documents say, its influence on the Catholic Church and contemporary society. Since 2007, this has benn the task of the journal "Studia et Documenta". The journal gathers together studies, annotated unpublished documents, news of academic interest, reviews and synopses, and a comprehensive bibliographic bulletin. Each volume contains in the region of 500 pages. The articles are prepared by specialists and are subjected to the peer review system.

Jordi Piferrer, storico di Barcellona, ha studiato per anni, in loco, varie spedizioni di evasione attraverso i Pirenei, durante la Guerra civile spagnola (1936-1939) e la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Nella prima parte del libro analizza a fondo la fuga di San Josemaría Escrivá, nell’autunno del 1937, con altre sette persone, allegando numerosi documenti inediti. Nella seconda parte descrive i due soggiorni di San Josemaría in Andorra, le guide che resero possibile la traversata, alcune questioni ancora controverse, e altre due spedizioni, correlate con quella principale.San Josemaría Escrivá (1902-1975) fondò a Madrid il 2 ottobre 1928, per ispirazione divina, l’Opus Dei che, alla sua morte, era diffuso in tutto il mondo, con oltre 60.000 membri. È stato canonizzato a Roma il 6 ottobre 2002.
The Pyrenees in the Modern Era
This original study examines different incarnations of the Pyrenees, beginning with the assumptions of 18th-century geologists, who treated the mountains like a laboratory, and romantic 19th-century tourists and habitués of the spa resorts, who went in search of the picturesque and the sublime. The book analyses the individual visions of the heroic Pyrenees which in turn fascinated 19th-century mountaineers and the racing cyclists of the early Tour de France. Martyn Lyons also investigates the role of the Pyrenees during the Second World War as an escape route from Nazi-occupied France, when for thousands of refugees these dangerous borderlands became 'the mountains of liberty', and considers the place of the Pyrenees in recent times right up to the present day. Drawing on travel writing, press reports and scientific texts in several languages, The Pyrenees in the Modern Era explores both the French and Spanish sides of the Pyrenees to provide a nuanced historical understanding of the cultural construction of one of Europe's most prominent border regions. This book will be of great interest to scholars and students of Europe's cultural history in a transnational context.
