Operational Research
This book provides the current status of research on the application of OR methods to solve emerging and relevant operations management problems. Each chapter is a selected contribution of the IO2021 - XXI Congress of APDIO, the Portuguese Association of Operational Research, held in Figueira da Foz from 7 to 8 November 2021. Under the theme of analytics for a better world, the book presents interesting results and applications of OR cutting-edge methods and techniques to various real-world problems. Of particular importance are works applying nonlinear, multi-objective optimization, hybrid heuristics, multicriteria decision analysis, data envelopment analysis, simulation, clustering techniques and decision support systems, in different areas such as supply chain management, production planning and scheduling, logistics, energy, telecommunications, finance and health. All chapters were carefully reviewed by the members of the scientific program committee.

Advanced Concepts, Methodologies and Technologies for Transportation and Logistics
This book is a collection of original papers produced by the members of the Euro Working Group on Transportation (EWGT) in the last several years (2015–2017). The respective chapters present the results of various research projects carried out by the members of the EWGT and extended versions of presentations given at the last several meetings of the EWGT. The book offers a representative sampling of the EWGT’s research activities and covers the state-of-the-art in quantitative oriented transportation/logistics research. Decision Support Systems – Collaborative Models and Approaches in Real Environments
This book contains extended and revised versions of a set of selected papers from two workshops organized by the Euro Working Group on Decision Support Systems (EWG-DSS), which were held in London and Paris, in June and November 2011, respectively. The workshop themes were "Decision Support Systems" and "Collaborative Decision Making." The 11 papers were selected from 52 submissions and are representative of the current research in these fields. They address challenges such as conceptual models, software specification and simulation, collaborative requirements specification, as well as multi-objective and multi-criteria decision making.
Advances in Mobility-as-a-Service Systems

Saline and Alkaline Soils in Latin America
This book provides the first comprehensive overview of saline and alkaline soils in Latin America, known for having one of the most extensive surface of salt-affected soils in the world. It is organized along two main axes: soils and vegetation. The book discusses the occurrence of such soils in the region, focusing mainly in management strategies for their sustainable use, and it presents accounts of natural vegetation and crops in the various environments of the region. Social impacts of such conditions and ongoing projects to overcome them are considered. Likewise, the book highlights physiological mechanisms that are responsible for the negative effects these soils exert on crops and forest resources and determine vegetation distribution in them. Plant breeding challenges and new perspectives for such environments are discussed. Technologies such as irrigation and drainage are included. This book contains extended and revised versions of a set of selected papers from two workshops organized by the Euro Working Group on Decision Support Systems (EWG-DSS), which were held in Thessaloniki, Greece, and Rome, Italy, in May and July 2013. From a total of 45 submissions, 15 papers were accepted for publication in this edition after being reviewed by at least three internationally known experts from the EWG-DSS Program Committee and external invited reviewers. The selected papers are representative of current research activities in the area of operational research and decision support systems, focusing on topics such as decision-making using social networks and Web resources; spatio-temporal Web-based decision making; group support systems; technical, legal, and social aspects of decision making; knowledge management and decision support systems; business intelligence and data warehousing; and negotiation support systems.
