Estos van desde el estudio de las teorías y políticas de migración hasta el análisis de casos concretos en Europa, África y América Latina, así como algunas aportaciones internacionales de caràcter teórico y comparativo. El núcleo inicial del libro fueron las aportaciones al Coloquio de REDAM (la red de antropología médica española) celebrado en Murcia en 2004, revisados en 2008, al que se han añadido otras aportaciones de especialistas sobre este campo.
