Este livro constitui um trabalho interdisciplinar e transversal, que apresenta uma análise desenvolvida a partir de fontes diversificadas e de perspectivas múltiplas. Abarca o estudo da legislação, das mentalidades, dos preconceitos sociais e da imposição de um modelo mental e social, que disciplina o mundo feminino, e que gira também à volta de juízes e de advogados. O facto de as sentenças não serem fundamentadas impede uma rápida relação entre delitos e penas e uma análise diferenciada por género. Estudar as mulheres e a justiça exige uma profunda revisão das fontes, das interpretações e das visões que se geraram a partir da intervenção de todos os elementos que participam no processo judicial, desde as testemunhas aos juízes.
