Die vorliegende empirische Studie untersucht Kompetenzprofile im Sinne von aktuellen berufsspezifischen Idealausprägungen der Kompetenzen von Tennistrainern. Dabei werden Entwicklungspotentiale aufgedeckt und schließlich konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen für die Aus- und Fortbildungen formuliert. Durch die Berücksichtigung verschiedener Zielgruppen und das multimethodische Untersuchungsdesign werden sowohl Ist- als auch Sollausprägungen aus mehreren Perspektiven analysiert. Die Studienergebnisse haben durch die durchgeführte Vollerhebung und die formulierten Ableitungen eine große Bedeutung für die angewandte Praxis.
