Publikace určená studujícím medicíny a mladým lékařům ve specializační přípravě z interních oborů, ortopedie a traumatologie se věnuje diagnostice a léčbě nejčastějších onemocnění skeletu s hlavním akcentem na problematiku osteoporózy. Jedná se o přepracovanou a výrazně doplněnou písemnou podobu studijních textů e-learningového kurzu Osteoporóza, vytvořeného pro studenty všeobecného lékařství 3. lékařské fakulty Univerzity Karlovy. Autoři jednotlivých kapitol oddělili texty pro mediky (normální písmo) a texty pro atestanty (petit). Takto koncipovaný studijní materiál by měl vhodně provést studenty všeobecného lékařství i mladé lékaře ve specializační přípravě mnohaoborovým pohledem na problematiku onemocnění skeletu.
