The most comprehensive guide to all techniques available to European companies, European Cross-Border Mergers and Reorganisations is the ideal reference tool for lawyers, auditors, notaries and scholars working in the field. The complex and shifting relation between regionalism and modernity With its search for purity, honesty, modesty, and ‘fitness of purpose', the late 19th and early 20th century concept of architectural regionalism is seminal to the modern movement. In later historiography, however, regionalism in Europe was neglected and even labeled ‘backward'. The origins of this drastic change of perception can be traced to the 1930s, when regionalism as a positive form gradually turned into a ‘closed' form of regionalism, a folding back on one's own region as a defence mechanism in an economically and politically turbulent decade.

A compilation of previously unavailable translated commentaries by the Church Fathers on the book of Isaiah. Fourth and fifth-century exegetes are featured especially, but there are many excerpts from Sts. Justin Maryr, Irenaeus, Athanasius of Alexandria, Jerome, Ambrose and others. Modern commentary (from 1775 to the present) has been added to enhance our understanding by providing insight into the historical context, poetry and structure. In some chapters, a short Judaic section has been included to point to Messianic passages and assist with some obscure metaphors and references.
The volume deals with the Septuagint version of Isaiah 23, the Oracle of Tyre. The text of this chapter serves as an illustration of a comprehensive method of analysis which is described in the first part of the book. After a study of the Masoretic text the Septuagint version is dealt with from several points of view: in comparison with the Masoretic text, as text in its own right, as to its genre ('vision'), and concerning its Hebrew Vorlage. Due attention is paid to the Isaiah texts from Qumran. The last part of the book contains a chapter on the reception of LXX Isaiah 23 in patristic commentaries and also an appendix of text critical notes on Isaiah 23 according to the principles of the Biblica Hebraica Quinta.
