This book is a conference proceeding of XL Annual National Conference of Indian Society of Professional Social Work (www.ispsw.net) held at Chandigarh, India from 27th -28th May 2022. This was released as a Souvenir during the conference. The conference theme was " Co-building a New Eco-Social World: Leaving No One Behind in Indian Perspective" as the title of this book. The title ‘Co-building a New Eco-Social World: Leaving No One Behind in Indian Perspective’, is retained in concordance with the theme of World Social Work Day 2022 which “presents a vision and action plan to create new global values, policies and practices that develop trust, security and confidence for all people and the sustainability of the planet”. It “will be a highlight opportunity for the social work profession to engage all social work networks and the community they work within to make contributions to the values and principles which enable all people to have their dignity respected through shared futures”. The theme is pertinent in the Indian perspective and expected to benefit academicians, students, Social workers and professionals irrespective of the area they are working in.
Memoir of Professional Social Workers
The ‘Memoir of Professional Social Workers’ is the second volume of the book ‘Work and Life of the Professional Social Worker’ published by the Indian Society of Professional Work (ISPSW) in the year 2022. We hope this will motivate other professional social workers to write about their own life experiences by themselves or someone else whom they know. Their in-depth experience and enriched knowledge will be advantageous for other professional social workers to learn from their life. The current volume two has fifteen scholarly articles from eminent social work professionals (both educators and practitioners) across the country.
Professional Social Work in India
This edited volume is a collection of core social work articles that have been published in the National Journal of Professional Social Work, an official publication of The Indian Society of Professional Social Work (ISPSW). After taking the responsibility of editorship by the first editor the journal seek to become truly online and open access and for the same, it was required to upload all published volumes in the archive of the journal. That's why an extensive search was carried out to gather all previously published issues; while scanning and digitalizing the papers it was observed that some papers are on the common theme and it will give in-depth insight on that particular topic if bring together; which was beyond the scope of a journal so, this book was conceptualized. The second editor took the pain of screening papers, OCR scanning, typesetting, and proofreading; due to the limited resource, all these works had to do by himself.
Promoting Sustainable Innovations in Plant Varieties
This book develops the term ‘Sustainable Innovations’ and defines it on the basis of plant variety innovations that, by their very nature, (i) permit the in situ conservation of agrobiodiversity and genetic variability in diverse geographic and climatic conditions, (ii) do not exclude any potential innovators from the process of innovation, and thereby (iii) ensure that both formal and informal innovations can continue to take place in the generations to come (in both the developed and developing world). The book studies the Indian Plant Variety Protection Act, the UPOV Acts and associated agricultural policies from a legal, philosophical, historical and economic perspective with the aim of determining the means of promoting sustainable innovations in plant varieties and identifying laws, policies and practices that are currently acting as impediments to promoting the same.
