Clara fa la grafica pubblicitaria a Lüneburg, una piccola città di provincia vicino ad Amburgo, e vive felice con il suo compagno, il musicista Ben. Finché, una sera, i due litigano e la mattina dopo lei scopre che è morto cadendo dalla finestra. Da quel tragico evento Clara è paralizzata dal dolore e i suoi amici e la sua famiglia sono preoccupati per lei.
