Every single person occupies a point in the planet earth. Everyone belongs to a community of persons which starts with one’s family and roots. This book is set prove the fact as it is an enquiry into the life of a clan of which most of members have no clear knowledge of how they are related to one another; regular internal strife is the consequence. The book is made in three parts. The first and second parts trace the origin of the clan; through people’s names and events show how the people are connected to one another. Part three uses the discovery on the people’s experiences to educate the rest of us on the way forward in many issues of human life.
The Journal of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is the annual publication of the United States Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, in cooperation with the International Council of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Those concerned with children’s theological education will find the Journal a reflective resource for ongoing formation to support their work with children. The features demonstrate an understanding of the child, particularly from the point of view of his or her religious potential. This focus on the religious life of the child is the distinguishing feature of the Journal. Each year, themes are chosen centered on children’s innate spirituality and religious development as described in the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, Sofia Cavalletti, and Gianna Gobbi. The theological artwork, prayers, and observations of children in the atrium are vital. Of particular interest are works of the child that show the synthesis of themes presented in the atrium. The 2024 Journal celebrates the history of CGSUSA and features contributions from members on four decades of the catechesis in the United States.
The United States Association of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is proud to commemorate Gianna Gobbi’s 100th birthday this year. The 2019 Journal explores who she was and the discoveries she shared with Sofia Cavalletti concerning the Child in the life of the atrium.
The United States Association of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is proud to feature the Montessori Foundations of CGS in the 2022 Journal. This year's journal continues the examination of Maria Montessori’s work, which is so integral to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The articles explore how Montessori’s theory and practice are integrated throughout the atrium experience to assist the child from three to twelve years in an encounter with God.
Madness were true originals who mixed ska and reggae rhythms with social comment and music hall humour to become a British group like no other. They were the most successful UK singles band of the 80s, offering a larky down-to-earth take on Thatcher’s Britain through hits like ‘My Girl’, ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘House Of Fun’ and ‘Baggy Trousers’. Their appeal endures to this day, Madness’ latter-day concerts having become fun-packed celebrations of one of the best-loved songbooks in British pop. Like most bands Madness had their trials and tribulations, including band disputes, accusations of racism and an eventual split. But by then they had become a unique part of British pop history. In this book, John Reed tells their colourful story with a perceptive industry eye and the help of insights from many insiders and colleagues of the band.
