This report presents the results of an investigation into the thermal conductivity of a Lunar Soil Simulant at pressure levels of 5 x 10(exp -5) torr and below. Thermal measurements were completed in vacuum over the temperature range of 200 deg K to 425 deg K. The Lunar Soil Simulant consisted of quarried diabase rock crushed and processed to the gradation of a fine sand. Four distinct combinations of the size fractions of this material permitted evaluation of the effect of grain size on the measurement of thermal conductivity within the sample container. This experimental data was correlated with data obtained by other investigations.
