"This is a serious and impressive work. It will help those who are committed to changing the industry to create structures to do so, whether in one area or in totality. It offers a whole range of powerful tools, which will be particularly useful to those with the personal drive to apply them to rethinking construction. It is packed with examples that help to flesh out a rigorous analysis of how the industry can improve."David Fison, Kvaerner Construction

Britain's most articulate singer–songwriter remains a complex individual whose lyrics are concerned with realism, opinion, waspish wit, irony, asexuality, melancholy and love. In this candid biography, Morrissey's friends and members of his entourage speak frankly to David Bret to reveal a fascinating portrait of the iconic star. Bret's fully up-to-date biography is packed with revelations; accusations of racism and fascism; confessions of physical abuse; High Court royalty battles and the public shaming; the attack on Cliff Richard; renegade fans' attempts to sabotage his career. Placed upon a pedestal and worshipped; alternately derided and attacked by detractors, Morrissey is perhaps the only English entertainer to have successfully created hisown culture, a personal world filled with foibles, likes and dislikes, and above all unsuppressable opinion; a world which David Bret describes with vivid candour that provides a comprehensive insight into the singer-songwriter's life and music as well as an ideal introduction for new fans of his work. The book includes a full discography, numerous original photos and a comprehensive bibliography.

This Scouting Life

Exploding tins of beans over a campfire. Hammering down tent pegs in the rain. Marching for hours, singing for days, and playing 'Bulldog's Charge' at every opportunity. This Scouting Life is a story about the experiences shared by millions of people worldwide, and in communities all across Ireland. For the author, Archie Raeside, this is the story of how an eight-year-old boy in Dublin of 1947 decides he wants to become a Scout and how that desire becomes a reality. As the author rose through the ranks, his memories paint a picture of a changing organisation and a changing Ireland, recounting his involvement with Presidency of Eamon De Valera and the visit of Pope John Paul in 1979. This is a book that tells the story of one man's life within the Irish Scouts, but in the memories he evokes and the scenes he recaptures, this is a book about a simpler time of which we were all a part.
