Design And Modeling For 3d Ics And Interposers

3D Integration is being touted as the next semiconductor revolution. This book provides a comprehensive coverage on the design and modeling aspects of 3D integration, in particularly, focus on its electrical behavior. Looking from the perspective the Silicon Via (TSV) and Glass Via (TGV) technology, the book introduces 3DICs and Interposers as a technology, and presents its application in numerical modeling, signal integrity, power integrity and thermal integrity. The authors underscored the potential of this technology in design exchange formats and power distribution.

As the convergence of multiple functions in a single electronic device drives current electronic trends, the need for increasing integration density is becoming more emphasized than in the past. To keep up with the industrial need and realize the new system integration law, three-dimensional (3-D) integration called System-on-Package (SoP) is becoming necessary. However, the commercialization of 3-D integration should overcome several technical barriers, one of which is the difficulty for the electrical design of interconnections. The 3-D interconnection design is difficult because of the modeling challenge of electrical coupling from the complicated structures of a large number of interconn...

Cost Analysis Of Electronic Systems (Second Edition)

This book provides an introduction to the cost modeling for electronic systems that is suitable for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in electrical, mechanical and industrial engineering, and professionals involved with electronics technology development and management. This book melds elements of traditional engineering economics with manufacturing process and life-cycle cost management concepts to form a practical foundation for predicting the cost of electronic products and systems. Various manufacturing cost analysis methods are addressed including: process-flow, parametric, cost of ownership, and activity based costing. The effects of learning curves, data uncertainty, test and rework processes, and defects are considered. Aspects of system sustainment and life-cycle cost modeling including reliability (warranty, burn-in), maintenance (sparing and availability), and obsolescence are treated. Finally, total cost of ownership of systems, return on investment, cost-benefit analysis, and real options analysis are addressed.

AHL Foundation and Korean Cultural Service of New York are proud to present some materials from the Archive of Korean-American Artists (AKAA). Korean artists such as Whanki Kim (1913-1974), John Pai (b. 1937), Nam June Paik (1932-2006) and Po Kim (b. 1917) started to settle down in New York in the 1960s while a large number of artists arrived here to study at various MFA programs in the 1980s. Byron Kim, Y. David Chung, Ik-joong Kang, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha and many talented young Korean-American artists lived and worked in New York in the 1980s. This exhibition catalogue presents a group of the first generations who set up their studios in the greater New York area in the 1960s to the 1980s. This exhibition catalogue of Coloring Time includes scholarly essays along with documents, photographs, drawings, and sketches of Korean-American artists as well as their early works classified into five themes in order to show a creative journey of Korean contemporary art transplanted in the US.

The Life and Works of Korean Poet Kim Myŏng-sun

The Life and Works of Korean Poet Kim Myŏng-sun offers an introduction to Korea’s first modern woman writer to publish a collection of creative works, Kim Myŏng-sun (1896–ca. 1954). Despite attempts by male contemporaries to assassinate her character, Kim was an outspoken writer and an early feminist, confronting patriarchal Korean society in essays, plays, poems, and short stories. This volume is the first to offer a detailed analysis in English of Kim’s poetry. The poems examined in this volume can be considered early twentieth-century versions of #MeToo literature, mirroring the harrowing account of her sexual assault, and also subversive challenges to traditional institutions, dealing with themes such as romantic free love, same-sex love, single womanhood, and explicit female desire and passion. The Life and Works of Korean Poet Kim Myŏng-sun restores a long-neglected woman writer to her rightful place in the history of Korean literature, shedding light on the complexity of women’s lives in Korea and contributing to the growing interest in modern Korean women’s literature in the West.
