Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology: A Diagnostic Approach, Second Edition is a fully updated and revised edition of this richly illustrated reference to the wide range of diagnostic imaging modalities available for investigating lesions affecting the face and jaws. Provides extensive flowcharts detailing the steps of diagnosis and decisions Features more than 450 clinical images, including many multi-part figures, demonstrating the concepts discussed, with more images covering cone beam computed tomography, positron emission tomography, and interventional procedures Discusses differences in the demographic, clinical and radiological presentations, and outcomes of treatment due to ethnicity Presents practical approaches firmly grounded in the scientific literature, focusing on the most common and important lesions Includes perspectives from experts in various specialty areas, including medical radiologists, oral and maxillofacial radiologists, functional imaging specialists, and radiation oncologists

From specialists in the field, you will learn about interesting connections and recent developments in the field of graph theory by looking in particular at Cartesian products-arguably the most important of the four standard graph products. Many new results in this area appear for the first time in print in this book. Written in an accessible way,

Arithmetic Applied Mathematics deals with concepts of arithmetic applied mathematics and uses a computer, rather than a continuum, approach to the deterministic theories of particle mechanics. Models of classical physical phenomena are formulated from both Newtonian and special relativistic mechanics using only arithmetic. Definitions of energy and momentum are presented that are identical to those of continuum mechanics. Comprised of nine chapters, this book begins by exploring discrete modeling as it relates to Newtonian mechanics and special relativistic mechanics, paying particular attention to gravity. The reader is then introduced to long-range forces such as gravitation and short-range forces such as molecular attraction and repulsion; the N-body problem; and conservative and non-conservative models of complex physical phenomena. Subsequent chapters focus on the foundational concepts of special relativity; arithmetic special relativistic mechanics in one space dimension and three space dimensions; and Lorentz invariant computations. This monograph will be of interest to students and practitioners in the fields of mathematics and physics.

This book breaks new ground in the studies of green transition. It frames the ongoing transformation in terms of a "battle of modernities" with the emerging vision of ecomodernity as the final destination. It also offers a systematic exploration of the potential for extensive transformation of carbon-intensive sectors – with a focus on energy and transport – towards a low or post-carbon economy. The book does so in a comparative perspective, by pointing to a diversity of techno-economic and institutional solutions in the mature Western economies, and in the rapidly growing East and developing South. The contributors highlight a broad spectrum of available alternatives as well as illumina...
