The 32 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The focus of the papers is on the following application topics: complex systems; computer and information systems; communication systems and networks; wireless and mobile systems and networks; peer-to-peer application and services; embedded systems and sensor networks; workload modelling and characterization; road traffic and transportation; social networks; measurements and hybrid techniques; modeling of virtualization; energy-aware optimization; stochastic modeling for systems biology; biologically inspired network design.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Analytical and Stochastic Modelling Techniques and Applications, ASMTA 2012, held in Grenoble, France, in June 2012. The 20 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on queueing systems; networking applications; Markov chains; stochastic modelling.
We are proud to present the proceedings of NET-COOP 2009, the inter- tionalconferenceonnetworkcontrolandoptimization,co-organizedbyEURAN- DOM/Eindhoven University of Technology and CWI. This year’s conference at EURANDOM, held November 23–25, was the third in line after previous e- tions in Avignon (2007) and Paris (2008). NET-COOP 2009 was organized in conjunction with the Euro-NF workshop on “New Trends in Modeling, Quan- tative Methods, and Measurements. ” While organized within the framework of Euro-NF, NET-COOP enjoys great interest beyond Euro-NF, as is attested by the geographic origins of the papers in these proceedings. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th European Workshop on Computer Performance Engineering, EPEW 2021, and the 26th International Conference, on Analytical and Stochastic Modelling Techniques and Applications, ASMTA 2021, held in December 2021. The conference was held virtually due to COVID 19 pandemic. The 29 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 39 submissions. The papers presented at the workshop reflect the diversity of modern performance evaluation, with topics ranging from modeling and analysis of network/control protocols and high performance/big data information systems, analysis of scheduling, blockchain technology, analytical modeling and simulation of computer and network systems.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Next Generation Teletraffic and Wired/Wireless Advanced Networking, NEW2AN 2007. The 39 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 113 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on teletraffic, traffic characterization and modeling, 3G/UMTS, sensor networks, WLAN, QoS, MANETs, lower layer techniques, PAN technologies, and TCP.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 19th European Workshop on Computer Performance Engineering, EPEW 2023, and 27th International Conference on Analytical and Stochastic Modelling Techniques and Applications, ASMTA 2023, held in Florence, Italy, in June 2023. The 26 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 35 submissions. The papers presented at the workshop reflect the diversity of modern performance engineering. The sessions covered a wide range of topics including robustness analysis, machine learning, edge and cloud computing, as well as more traditional topics on stochastic modelling, techniques and tools.
This volume contains the proceedings of two international workshops EPEW and WS-FM held at the Universite de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Versailles, France, 1–3 September 2005.
Wireless networks of moving objects have drawn significant attention recently. These types of networks consist of a number of autonomous or semi-autonomous wireless nodes/objects moving with diverse patterns and speeds while communicating via several radio interfaces simultaneously. To overcome current shortcomings, a number of research challenges have to be addressed in this area, ranging from initial conceptualization and modelling, to protocols and architectures engineering, and development of suitable tools, applications and services, and to the elaboration of realistic use-case scenarios by taking into account corresponding societal and economic aspects. By applying a systematic approac...
