Developments and Retrospectives in Lie Theory
The Lie Theory Workshop, founded by Joe Wolf (UC, Berkeley), has been running for over two decades. At the beginning, the top universities in California and Utah hosted the meetings, which continue to run on a quarterly basis. Experts in representation theory/Lie theory from various parts of the US, Europe, Asia (China, Japan, Singapore, Russia), Canada, and South and Central America were routinely invited to give talks at these meetings. Catalytic Arylation Methods
This "hands-on" approach to the topic of arylation consolidates the body of key research over the last ten years (and up to around 2014) on various catalytic methods which involve an arylation process. Clearly structured, the chapters in this one-stop resource are arranged according to the reaction type, and focus on novel, efficient and sustainable processes, rather than the well-known and established cross-coupling methods. Arithmetic Geometry
This book resulted from a research conference in arithmetic geometry held at Arizona State University in March 1993. The papers describe important recent advances in arithmetic geometry. Several articles deal with p-adic modular forms of half-integral weight and their roles in arithmetic geometry. The volume also contains material on the Iwasawa theory of cyclotomic fields, elliptic curves, and function fields, including p-adic L-functions and p-adic height pairings. Other articles focus on the inverse Galois problem, fields of definition of abelian varieties with real multiplication, and computation of torsion groups of elliptic curves. The volume also contains a previously unpublished letter of John Tate, written to J.-P. Serre in 1973, concerning Serre's conjecture on Galois representations. With contributions by some of the leading experts in the field, this book provides a look at the state of the art in arithmetic geometry.
Viruses and Human Cancer
