Buku ini membahas secara mendalam tentang pikiran-pikiran filsafat Pancasila dari dua filsuf besar, yakni Prof., Dr. Notonagoro dan Prof., Dr. N. Drijarkara, SJ. Keduanya tidak diragukan lagi sebagai filsuf yang memberikan kontribusi besar bagi perumusan atau pengembangan filsafat Pancasila. Dengan latar belakang pendidikan filsafat dan sosio-kultural yang berbeda, membandingkan pemikiran kedua filsuf ini memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang filsafat Pancasila. Notonagoro dengan pendekatan esensialistik-nya berhasil merumuskan hakikat filsafat Pancasila yang besifat mutlak dan universal, sedangkan Drijarkara dengan pendekatan fenomenologi-eksistensialistik-nya berhasil membuktikan bahwa Pancasila merupakan cerminan kodrat manusia sebagai makhluk sosial. Selain menawarkan rekonstruktif atas filsafat Pancasila, buku ini juga menyajikan usaha untuk mengontekstualisasikan filsafat Pancasila dalam kehidupan demokrasi Indonesia.

Peranakan Chinese communities and their “hybrid” culture have fascinated many observers. This book, comprising fourteen chapters, was mainly based on papers written by the author in the last two decades. The chapters address Peranakan Chinese cultural, national and political identities in the Malay Archipelago, i.e., Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore (IMS). This book is divided into two parts.
