Andrew Wood Cooley was born 1837 and lived in the eastern part of Michigan. In the summer of 1863, he left his home in Michigan and traveled westward to participate in the California gold rush. On his way to California, he stopped in Utah and lived among the members of the LDS Church. Later, Andrew became a member of the LDS Church and was baptized by John Pack 1 May 1864. Andrew married four times and died 1887 in Utah. Descendants lived primarily in Utah and elsewhere.
