Faust-Foust Family in Germany & America
Johan Peter Faust (1689-1745) was born in Langensebold, Hesse, Germany. He married twice and came to America in 1733 with his second wife and their family. They settled in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Iowa and elsewhere. Includes other Faust/Foust lines originating in Germany with descendants throughout the United States.
Trautman, Troutman Family, 1598-1998
Chiefly a record of some of the descendants of Michael Trautmann. He was born ca. 1598 in Schriesheim, Germany, to Sebastian Trautmann and Catherina. He married Margaretha Dorn. She died 12 Oct 1654. They were the parents of at least six children. He married Barbara Kern 15 May 1655. She was born ca. 1624, the daughter of Barthel Kern. She died in 1666. They were the parents of five children. He married Anna Margaretha Scheppler 28 Jan 1668. He died 20 Apr 1684. Descendants immigrated to America ca. 1743.

Commonly known as the Battle at Clapp's Mill, this book provides the most comprehensive review of this battle in the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution. This book will review three possible battle-sites, and resolve the dispute over which is the correct location. We believe this battle occurred on Foust's plantation, thereby answering numerous questions and solving many mysteries. Regardless of location, this book provides the most accurate review of the battle, as well as the events leading up to it, and the second skirmish afterwards (prior to Weitzel's Mill). Using primary references, these authors have uncovered new information, neatly presented to the reader, illustrated with many maps, drawings, images, charts, etc. This is the single best book on this battle, ever published to date.
Blount County, Alabama Cemeteries, Volume 1
Blount County was carved out of the territory ceded to the State by the Creek Indians following their defeat at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. The earliest settlers began streaming into the former wilderness as early as 1817. Blount was originally a large county, but over the decades pieces were taken to make up other adjoining counties such as Jefferson, Marshall, Etowah, and Cullman. Every cemetery within the contemporary boundaries of Blount was visited by the author and each readable tombstone was copied to develop the contents of this three volume series. Most of the cemeteries were read in 2002. Volume 1 covers alphabetically A through H, beginning with the Alldredge Family Cemetery and concluding with the High Rock Methodist Church Cemetery. This book is vital to any serious student of Blount County genealogy and history.
