Topics in Cryptology -- CT-RSA 2006

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Cryptographers' Track at the RSA Conference 2006, CT-RSA 2006, held in San Jose, CA, USA in February 2006. The book presents 24 papers organized in topical sections on attacks on AES, identification, algebra, integrity, public key encryption, signatures, side-channel attacks, CCA encryption, message authentication, block ciphers, and multi-party computation.

Topics in Cryptology -- CT-RSA 2004

The Cryptographers’ Track (CT-RSA) is a research conference within the RSA conference, the largest, regularly staged computer security event. CT-RSA 2004 was the fourth year of the Cryptographers’ Track, and it is now an established venue for presenting practical research results related to cryptography and data security. The conference received 77 submissions, and the program committee sel- ted 28 of these for presentation. The program committee worked very hard to evaluate the papers with respect to quality, originality, and relevance to cryp- graphy. Each paper was reviewed by at least three program committee members. Extended abstracts of the revised versions of these papers are in these proc- dings. The program also included two invited lectures by Dan Boneh and Silvio Micali. I am extremely grateful to the program committee members for their en- mous investment of time and e?ort in the di?cult and delicate process of review and selection. Many of them attended the program committee meeting during the Crypto 2003 conference at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Secure Integrated Circuits and Systems

Secure Integrated Circuits and Systems

On any advanced integrated circuit or "system-on-chip" there is a need for security. In many applications the actual implementation has become the weakest link in security rather than the algorithms or protocols. The purpose of the book is to give the integrated circuits and systems designer an insight into the basics of security and cryptography from the implementation point of view. As a designer of integrated circuits and systems it is important to know both the state-of-the-art attacks as well as the countermeasures. Optimizing for security is different from optimizations for speed, area, or power consumption. It is therefore difficult to attain the delicate balance between the extra cost of security measures and the added benefits.

RFID Security

This is an edited book covering fundamentals, security theories and protocols, and hardware implementations for cryptography algorithms and security techniques in RFID. It is the first book to comprehensively cover RFID security issues and solutions. Part 1 deals with RFID fundamentals. Part 2 addresses RFID security protocols and techniques. Finally, the book discusses hardware implementation of security algorithms and protocols dedicated to RFID platforms and chips.

Topics in Cryptology -- CT-RSA 2005

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Cryptographers’ Track at the RSA Conference 2005, CT-RSA 2005, held in San Francisco, CA, USA in February 2005. The 23 revised full papers presented together with 2 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 74 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on cryptanalysis, public key encryption, signature schemes, design principles, password-based protocols, pairings, and efficient and secure implementations.

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) is especially vulnerable against external and internal attacks due to its particular characteristics. This book provides an overview of the major security issues that various WSN designers have to face, and also gives a comprehensive guide of solutions and open problems.

Handbook of Signal Processing Systems

Handbook of Signal Processing Systems

Handbook of Signal Processing Systems is organized in three parts. The first part motivates representative applications that drive and apply state-of-the art methods for design and implementation of signal processing systems; the second part discusses architectures for implementing these applications; the third part focuses on compilers and simulation tools, describes models of computation and their associated design tools and methodologies. This handbook is an essential tool for professionals in many fields and researchers of all levels.

Security with Noisy Data

Noisy data appear very naturally in applications where the authentication is based on physical identifiers. This book provides a self-contained overview of the techniques and applications of security based on noisy data. It provides a comprehensive overview of the theory of extracting cryptographic keys from noisy data, and describes applications in the field of biometrics, secure key storage, and anti-counterfeiting.

This volume continues the tradition established in 2001 of publishing the c- tributions presented at the Cryptographers’ Track (CT-RSA) of the yearly RSA Security Conference in Springer-Verlag’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. With 14 parallel tracks and many thousands of participants, the RSA - curity Conference is the largest e-security and cryptography conference. In this setting, the Cryptographers’ Track presents the latest scienti?c developments. The program committee considered 49 papers and selected 20 for presen- tion. One paper was withdrawn by the authors. The program also included two invited talks by Ron Rivest (“Micropayments Revisited” – joint work with S...
