Samuel Beatty (1740s-1805) was born in Ireland and immigrated to America with his brother. He settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and was the father of seven children. One of his children was John Guthrie (1769-1838) who married Jane Guthrie. They were the parents of eight children. They settled in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Descendants live in Pennsylvania.
