Ante las interpretaciones descontextualizadas que se han hecho sobre la filosofía de Feyerabend, el propósito de esta investigación es darle más fuerza a sus argumentos de mayor cobertura, esto es, a su concepción respecto de la naturaleza de la ciencia y las que a su juicio deben ser las relaciones que esta debe guardar con el Estado y la sociedad, sobre la base de que las teorías del pasado permiten una mejor comprensión de las teorías del presente. Dado, entonces, que las tesis de John Stuart Mill expuestas en su obra Sobre la libertad apoyan a la filosofía de Paul Feyerabend, se explicará cómo este acogió dichas tesis.
