Our colleague contributors continue to be specialists with vast experience in their specific areas of endeavour. Their contributions were received swiftly and are focused on the aim of the book. Some of the direction altered through the journey which changed the book from being a publication in the World Union of Wound Healing Society series, resulting in this book, the aim and focus of which remain unaltered. The reader should, therefore, treat the book as one that presents elementary principles applicable in most situations.
