A Caldecott and Coretta Scott King Honor Book Mama’s love is brighter than the sun, even on the rainiest of days. This celebration of a mother-daughter relationship is perfect for sharing with little ones! On a rainy day when the house smells like cinnamon and Papa and Luca are still asleep, when the clouds are wearing shadows and the wind paints the window with beads of water, I want to be everywhere Mama is. With lyrical prose and a tender touch, the Caldecott and Coretta Scott King Honor Book Mama and Me is an ode to the strength of the bond between a mother and a daughter as they spend a rainy day together.

Electrophysiology studies test the electrical activity of the heart to determine the source of an arrhythmia. This book is a comprehensive guide to cardiac electrophysiology providing a thorough understanding of the mechanisms of arrhythmias and therapeutic interventions used in their treatment. Beginning with an introduction to cardiac electrophysiology and the fundamentals of cardiac anatomy, imaging, mapping and ablation, the following sections cover the diagnosis and management of different types of arrhythmia. The final section discusses miscellaneous topics including entrainment, provocative drug testing in the electrophysiology lab, and catheter ablation in children. The book is highly illustrated with nearly 300 images and tables and each chapter concludes with a summary highlighting the main points of the topic and offers suggestions for further reading. Key points Comprehensive guide to diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias Provides thorough overview of cardiac anatomy, imaging, mapping and ablation Includes other topics such as provocative drug testing and catheter ablation in children Highly illustrated with nearly 300 images and tables
This volume presents a multi-disciplinary approach to the physical mechanisms which structure the shape, evolution and fate of the Galaxy. It contains 4 panel sessions (the recording transcripts of the galactic 'tertulias'), an introductory historical overview on the Galaxy research, 17 reviews, and the proceedings of more than 50 oral and poster contributions. This book is not a new edition of a previous volume but it is in some way related to the book "The Formation of the Milky Way" (1995; Cambridge University Press), which contains the proceedings of the first IAA-IAC-University of Pisa meeting, held in Granada ten years ago, on the formation of the Milky Way, (see Shore’s introduction). Where many other books focus their attention on singular galactic components or specific driving forces, this title provides a wide overview on the gaseous and stellar components and on the physical mechanisms which maintain the dynamical equilibrium of such a complex system as the Galaxy. The book, intended for graduate students and researchers, provides a valuable overview on the different physical mechanisms which drive the galactic gas-stars feedback.
The series is aimed specifically at publishing peer reviewed reviews and contributions presented at workshops and conferences. Each volume is associated with a particular conference, symposium or workshop. These events cover various topics within pure and applied mathematics and provide up-to-date coverage of new developments, methods and applications.
This book reviews the management of right heart diseases, incorporating etiology, physiopathology, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The frequency of this pathology has increased in recent years, while techniques for its treatment have evolved. This book therefore represents a complete, detailed and updated presentation of this pathology, reviewing the expanded treatment options while considering the management of patients in detail. Right Heart Pathology: From Mechanism to Management provides a comprehensive insight into right heart pathology, current diagnostic methods, treatments and postsurgical management. Written by experienced cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons who have addressed significant issues in this topic area, it represents the essential reference in this specialty.
The current shift in demographics - aging and shrinking populations - in many countries around the world presents a major challenge to companies and societies alike. One particularly essential implication is the emergence and constant growth of the so-called "silver market," the market segment more or less broadly defined as those people aged 55 and older. Increasing in number and share of the total population while at the same time being relatively well-off, this market segment can be seen as very attractive and promising, although still very underdeveloped in terms of product and service offerings. This book offers a thorough and up-to-date analysis of the challenges and opportunities in leveraging innovation, technology, product development and marketing for elder consumers and employees. Key lessons are drawn from the Japanese lead market as well as other select countries.
