Caring Infrastructures
Care has become a trend in the art field, but much of the recent curatorial focus seems to be limited to symbolic gestures through exhibitions and public programming. These efforts, however, have led to few (infra)structural changes. The need remains for bringing about fair working conditions, gender equity, and support structures for caregivers and care-receivers. In response, Sascia Bailer redefines »curatorial care« as an infrastructural practice grounded in feminist care ethics that provides »care for presence« for diverse audiences. Drawing from socially engaged curatorial and artistic practices, she offers hands-on propositions for constructing caring infrastructures and provides a micro-political roadmap for curating with care.

Sediado na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), o Fazendo Gênero tem sido pensado e organizado pelas pesquisadoras, parceiras e colaboradoras vinculadas ao Instituto de Estudos de Gênero (IEG/UFSC) e, desde sua criação, é marcado pela insígnia do esforço coletivo em promover um espaço de interlocução. Este livro é resultado da dissertação do mestrado vinculado ao Programa de Pós-Graduação Interdisciplinar em Culturas Populares (PPGCULT) da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), tendo como título "A Festa da Retomada: uma Celebração Identitária de ser Xokó na Ilha de São Pedro – Porto da Folha/SE". Re-Assembling Motherhood(s)' invites the reader to learn about and from Maternal Fantasies ' feminist research and collective artistic practice on mother- hood(s), care work and representation in the arts.0Composed of seven interdisciplinary artists / mothers and ten children, Maternal Fantasies takes the social invisibility of the maternal experience as a point of departure to produce films, images, and performances of fantastical visibility. Through per- sonal writing exercises and collective performance scores, they align themselves with ancestral figures of feminist discourses and artmaking, in order to establish new vocabularies and narratives around the maternal for future generations. As both a handbook and an archive of feminist artmaking, this publication (re-)assembles maternal experiences, reflective essays, autobiographical writing, instructional scores, selected artworks, and a manifesto for a caring economy.

Theatre of Real People
Theatre of Real People offers fresh perspectives on the current fascination with putting people on stage who present aspects of their own lives and who are not usually trained actors. After providing a history of this mode of performance, and theoretical frameworks for its analysis, the book focuses on work developed by seminal practitioners at Berlin's Hebbel am Ufer (HAU) production house. It invites the reader to explore the HAU's innovative approach to Theatre of Real People, authenticity and cultural diversity during the period of Matthias Lilienthal's leadership (2003–12). Garde and Mumford also elucidate how Theatre of Real People can create and destabilise a sense of the authentic, and suggest how Authenticity-Effects can present new ways of perceiving diverse and unfamiliar people. Within this book, Onomatopee wishes to explore the conservative currents and cadence in and around design(ed) culture. By inviting both graphic design and fashion design professionals to comment, reflect, promote, critique, provoke and/or contemplate on conservative culture in relation to their own visions, design practice and designed goods, we wish to lay bare the intricacies and dynamics of design(er) in society today.
