Understanding the Brain Function and Emotions
The two volume set LNCS 11486 and 11487 constitutes the proceedings of the International Work-Conference on the Interplay Between Natural and Artificial Computation, IWINAC 2019, held in Almería, Spain,, in June 2019. The total of 103 contributions was carefully reviewed and selected from 190 submissions during two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers are organized in two volumes, one on understanding the brain function and emotions, addressing topics such as new tools for analyzing neural data, or detection emotional states, or interfacing with physical systems. The second volume deals with bioinspired systems and biomedical applications to machine learning and contains papers related bioinspired programming strategies and all the contributions oriented to the computational solutions to engineering problems in different applications domains, as biomedical systems, or big data solutions.
TRÄUME UND RÄUME EINER REVOLUTION
Ziel des Forschungsprojektes "Träume und Räume einer Revolution: Städtebau und Architektur in Kuba 1959-2018“, in dessen Rahmen das vorliegende Buch entstand, ist die historische Darstellung der von 1959 bis in die Gegenwart in Kuba realisierten Architektur. Auf der Grundlage einer detaillierten Erfassung der für die unterschiedlichen Momente repräsentativen Objekte werden im vorliegenden Band die speziell kubanischen Entwicklungen und eine differenzierte Periodisierung präsentiert. Die Betrachtungsweisen richten sich nach den Fragestellungen, wie sie sich – für den von außerhalb Blickenden – aufgrund der kubanischen Entwicklungen stellen.

The Banco de Londres y América del Sud in Buenos Aires was built between 1959 and 1966 through the efforts of a large team of designers and engineers, headed by the collaborative offices of Sepra and Clorindo Testa. Long admired by connoisseurs of South American architecture, the bank's design and construction belies the Western myth of the lone creative genius. Clorindo Testa, Architect
This unprecedented and comprehensive retrospective of world-renowned Argentine architect Clorindo Testa (b. 1923) covers all the periods of his career, from his early masterpieces to his current work. Testa first made his mark with his designs for the Banco Londres (1960-66) and the Biblioteca National (1961-95) in Buenos Aires--powerful urban megastructures of rough concrete that proposed a dialectical synthesis of public and private space, recalling Le Corbusier but also looking ahead to movements such as the Japanese Metabolists. Testa's architecture from the late seventies onwards acquired a more reflective human dimension, exemplified by the Altera art gallery (1983) and Testa's own beach house (1983), and by larger urban structures such as the Buenos Aires Design Center (1990) and the Colegio de Escribanos (1999). This monograph documents these and several other projects in full detail, with photographs by Hans-Jurgen Commerell, situating Testa's work in an international context for the first time.

The 108 revised full papers presented in LNCS 6686 resp. LNCS 6687 were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The first part, LNCS 6686, entitled "Foundations on Natural and Artificial Computation", includes all the contributions mainly related to the methodological, conceptual, formal, and experimental developments in the fields of neurophysiology and cognitive science. The second part, LNCS 6687, entitled "New Challenges on Bioinspired Applications", contains the papers related to bioinspired programming strategies and all the contributions related to the computational solutions to engineering problems in different application domains, specially Health applications, including the CYTED ``Artificial and Natural Computation for Health'' (CANS) research network papers.
