Models for Data Analysis
The 49Th Scientific meeting of the Italian Statistical Society was held in June 2018 in Palermo, with more than 450 attendants. There were plenary sessions as well as specialized and solicited and contributed sessions. This volume collects a selection of twenty extended contributions covering a wide area of applied and theoretical issues, according to the modern trends in statistical sciences. Only to mention some topics, there are papers on modern textual analysis, sensorial analysis, social inequalities, themes on demography, modern modeling of functional data and high dimensional data, and many other topics. This volume is addressed to academics, PhD students, professionals and researchers in applied and theoretical statistical models for data analysis.
Analysis and Modeling of Complex Data in Behavioral and Social Sciences
This volume presents theoretical developments, applications and computational methods for the analysis and modeling in behavioral and social sciences where data are usually complex to explore and investigate. The challenging proposals provide a connection between statistical methodology and the social domain with particular attention to computational issues in order to effectively address complicated data analysis problems. The papers in this volume stem from contributions initially presented at the joint international meeting JCS-CLADAG held in Anacapri (Italy) where the Japanese Classification Society and the Classification and Data Analysis Group of the Italian Statistical Society had a stimulating scientific discussion and exchange.
Classification and Multivariate Analysis for Complex Data Structures
The growing capabilities in generating and collecting data has risen an urgent need of new techniques and tools in order to analyze, classify and summarize statistical information, as well as to discover and characterize trends, and to automatically bag anomalies. This volume provides the latest advances in data analysis methods for multidimensional data which can present a complex structure: The book offers a selection of papers presented at the first Joint Meeting of the Société Francophone de Classification and the Classification and Data Analysis Group of the Italian Statistical Society. CLADAG 2021 BOOK OF ABSTRACTS AND SHORT PAPERS
The book collects the short papers presented at the 13th Scientific Meeting of the Classification and Data Analysis Group (CLADAG) of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS). The meeting has been organized by the Department of Statistics, Computer Science and Applications of the University of Florence, under the auspices of the Italian Statistical Society and the International Federation of Classification Societies (IFCS). CLADAG is a member of the IFCS, a federation of national, regional, and linguistically-based classification societies. It is a non-profit, non-political scientific organization, whose aims are to further classification research.
Earthquakes
This book is devoted to diverse aspects of earthquake researches, especially to new achievements in seismicity that involves geosciences, assessment, and mitigation. Chapters contain advanced materials of detailed engineering investigations, which can help more clearly appreciate, predict, and manage different earthquake processes. Different research themes for diverse areas in the world are developed here, highlighting new methods of studies that lead to new results and models, which could be helpful for the earthquake risk. The presented and developed themes mainly concern wave's characterization and decomposition, recent seismic activity, assessment-mitigation, and engineering techniques. The book provides the state of the art on recent progress in earthquake engineering and management. The obtained results show a scientific progress that has an international scope and, consequently, should open perspectives to other still unresolved interesting aspects.
Statistical Models for Data Analysis
The papers in this book cover issues related to the development of novel statistical models for the analysis of data. They offer solutions for relevant problems in statistical data analysis and contain the explicit derivation of the proposed models as well as their implementation. The book assembles the selected and refereed proceedings of the biannual conference of the Italian Classification and Data Analysis Group (CLADAG), a section of the Italian Statistical Society.
