Os textos que compõem esta coletânea foram apresentados durante a II Jornada Discente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência Política, organizado por discentes da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) entre os dias 9 e 11 de outubro de 2019. O tema do evento, Estado, Democracia e Sociedade: desafios contemporâneos, tornou-se o título desta publicação que visa divulgar os trabalhos científicos de pesquisadores e pesquisadoras e promover um debate qualificado acerca da complexa interação entre a sociedade civil e as instituições políticas e estatais na contemporaneidade. Epistemologies of the South
