The Mexican Filmography, 1916 through 2001
Mexican cinema has largely been overlooked by international film scholars because of a lack of English-language information and the fact that Spanish-language information was difficult to find and often out of date. This comprehensive filmography helps fill the need. Arranged by year of release and then by title, the filmography contains entries that include basic information (film and translated title, production company, genre, director, cast), a plot summary, and additional information about the film. Inclusion criteria: a film must be a Mexican production or co-production, feature length (one hour or more, silent films excepted), fictional (documentaries and compilation films are not included unless the topic relates to Mexican cinema; some docudramas and films with recreated or staged scenes are included), and theatrically released or intended for theatrical release.

Beginning with volume 41 (1979), the University of Texas Press became the publisher of the Handbook of Latin American Studies, the most comprehensive annual bibliography in the field. Compiled by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress and annotated by a corps of more than 130 specialists in various disciplines, the Handbook alternates from year to year between social sciences and humanities. The Handbook annotates works on Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Guianas, Spanish South America, and Brazil, as well as materials covering Latin America as a whole. Most of the subsections are preceded by introductory essays that serve as biannual evaluations of the literature and research under way in specialized areas. The Handbook of Latin American Studies is the oldest continuing reference work in the field. Lawrence Boudon became the editor in 2000. Los Esclavos de Don Rafael de Sobre Monte / III Marqués de Sobre Monte
El historiador y escritor argentino, Federico G. Bordese nos vuelve asombrar con su nuevo trabajo de investigación en relación al Marqués Rafael de Sobre Monte (no es "Sobremonte") quien fuera Gobernador - Intendente de la Gobernación de Córdoba de la Nueva Andalucía, por entonces formaba parte del Virreinato del Río de la Plata. De Sobre Monte tuvo esclavos negros y mulatos mientras residía en Córdoba; el autor nos narra sobre su familia poca conocida, redactando sobre la vida social que tuvo sobre toda su vida, las felicidades y sufrimientos que debió vivir.
