Modelling Fluid Flow
Modelling Fluid Flow presents invited lectures, workshop summaries and a selection of papers from a recent international conference CMFF '03 on fluid technology. The lectures follow the current evolution and the newest challenges of the computational methods and measuring techniques related to fluid flow. The workshop summaries reflect the recent trends, open questions and unsolved problems in the mutually inspiring fields of experimental and computational fluid mechanics. The papers cover a wide range of fluids engineering, including reactive flow, chemical and process engineering, environmental fluid dynamics, turbulence modelling, numerical methods, and fluid machinery.

The publication addresses the issue of «Islam and Human Rights», to which academics and practioners of various areas of expertise and countries have contributed.
Translation, Manipulation and Interpreting
The most provocative claim ever made about translation that «from the point of view of the target literature all translation implies a degree of manipulation of the source text for a certain purpose» (Hermans 1985:11), known as the manipulation hypothesis, serves as the departure point for this study. Translation is manipulation! What does it mean? How can it be? Can it be trusted? And what about its sister activity interpreting? The book provides answers to all these questions and more. It investigates the allegedly manipulative side of translation and interpreting, and offers an overview of scholarly and practitioner stances on translation and interpreting as manipulation as well as a fine-grained typology of translational manipulation with examples. Computer-assisted simultaneous interpreting: A cognitive-experimental study on terminology
The present work explores computer-assisted simultaneous interpreting (CASI) from a primarily cognitive perspective. Despite concerns over the potentially negative impact of computer-assisted interpreting (CAI) tools on interpreters’ cognitive load (CL), this hypothesis remains untested. Previous research is restricted to the evaluation of the CASI product and a methodology for the process-oriented evaluation of CASI and the empirical evidence for its cognitive modelling are missing. Ingham of Arabia
Ingham of Arabia is a collection of twelve articles on modern Arabic dialectology contributed by an international collection of colleagues and pupils of Professor Ingham of the London School of Oriental and African Languages on the occasion of his retirement. Half the articles are concerned with Arabic dialects from the areas Prof Ingham spent his academic life researching, principally Arabia and the neighbouring areas: Oman, Jordan, Sinai, the Negev, southern Turkey, Syria. Other articles are concerned with general topics in Arabic dialectology. The book contains a complete bibliography of Professor Ingham's publications.
The Influence of Translation on the Arabic Language
This book explores the influence of translation on the Arabic language, with particular emphasis on the translation of English idioms by journalists working at Arabic satellite TV stations, using a mixed-method approach (quantitative and qualitative).
