The Congressional Record began publication in 1873. Debates for sessions prior to 1873 are recorded in The Debates and Proceedings in the Congress of the United States (1789-1824), the Register of Debates in Congress (1824-1837), and the Congressional Globe (1833-1873)
Transformations of Literacy in Computer-mediated Communication
This work offers a rhetorical analysis of hypertext resulting in a taxonomy for the elements of hypertext as they relate to literacy. It postulates a theory of cyberdiscursivity, which holds that the more instantaneous, widespread, and individual discursive practices are inherent in computer-mediated communication. It looks at the effect upon groups of like-minded people when cyberdiscourse is introduced, therefore attempting to offer an insight into how the computer transforms communication practice.

Statistical Analysis of Counting Processes
A first version of these lecture notes was prepared for a course given in 1980 at the University of Copenhagen to a class of graduate students in mathematical statistics. A thorough revision has led to the result presented here. The main topic of the notes is the theory of multiplicative intens ity models for counting processes, first introduced by Odd Aalen in his Ph.D. thesis from Berkeley 1975, and in a subsequent fundamental paper in the Annals of Statistics 1978. Rhetoric and rhetorical theory have been gaining in prominence throughout the 20th century. As leaders in all fields give careful attention to issues in communication, rhetoric becomes increasingly central to a range of disciplines.
