Collingwood and the Crisis of Western Civilisation
This book argues that R.G. Collingwood's philosophy is best understood as a diagnosis of and response to a crisis of Western civilisation. The various and complementary aspects of the crisis of civilisation are explored and Collingwood is demonstrated to be working in the traditions of Romanticism and ‘historicism'. On these subjects, the theories of Collingwood and Ortega y Gasset are contrasted with those of Nietzsche and Weber.

This is the first book-length study of the relationship between Benedetto Croce (1866-1952), Giovanni Gentile (1875-1944), Guido de Ruggiero (1888-1948) and Robin George Collingwood (1889-1943). This bibliography on Sren Kierkegaard carries on the work of Jens Himmelstrup's international bibliography (1962). It collates everything written about Kierkegaard - books, contributions to edited collections, and journals - and also features an appendix of primary text editions and translations. Discussion notes, reviews, etc., are catalogued according to the items they refer to. The bibliography contains more than 5,600 primary entries and is a testament to the expanding worldwide interest in the Danish philosopher. It also remedies the deeply-felt need for a collected overview of the extensive literature on Kierkegaard.
A Companion to Joachim of Fiore
Joachim of Fiore (c.1135-1202) remains one of the most fascinating and enigmatic figures of medieval Christianity. In his own time, he was an influential advisor to the mighty and powerful, widely respected for his prophetic exegesis and decoding of the apocalypse. In modern times, many thinkers, from Thomas Müntzer to Friedrich Engels, have hailed him as a prophet of progress and revolution. Even present-day theologians, philosophers and novelists were inspired by Joachim’s vision of a Third Age of the Holy Spirit. However, at no time was Joachim an uncontroversial figure.
