Nach einem Uberblick uber die Beile des Chalcolithique, Bronze Ancien, Bronze Moyen und Bronze Final folgt die Beschreibung von 201 Kupfer- und Bronzebeilen sowie eines Hammers und einiger Meissel aus dem Elsass. Die Vorlage und Diskussion des Fundstoffs gliedern sich in ublicher Weise in Flach-, Randleisten-, Absatz-, Lappen- und Tullenbeile. In der Diskussion werden besonders die Beziehungen zum ubrigen Fundstoff aus West- und Mittel-Frankreich sowie die engeren Verbindungen mit den ostfranzosischen und mitteleuropaischen Beilen herausgestellt. Der Verfasser geht insbesondere der Frage der Verwendung als Waffe oder als Werkzeug nach. Der Tafelteil umfasst nach 15 Tafeln mit Abbildungen von 173 Beilen zwolf Tafeln mit Verbreitungskarten sowie zwei Tafeln mit ausgewahlten geschlossenen Funden. Eine typochronologische Ubersicht schliesst den Tafelteil ab. Abgerundet wird der Band durch eine Tabelle der von Flach- und Randleistenbeilen vorliegenden Metallanalysen.
