The American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences (AJISS), established in 1984, is a quarterly, double blind peer-reviewed and interdisciplinary journal, published by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), and distributed worldwide. The journal showcases a wide variety of scholarly research on all facets of Islam and the Muslim world including subjects such as anthropology, history, philosophy and metaphysics, politics, psychology, religious law, and traditional Islam.
The journal of Knowledge globalization is an attempt to share knowledge across geographical and functional barriers. The journal is an innovative attempt to overcome the barriers of knowledge silos. Globalization and knowledge are interconnected. Knowledge globalization is the process of sharing knowledge across knowledge silos resulting from barriers of geographical locations and of functional disciplines. Article included in this issue of the journal reflect a cross section global knowledge.In the light of knowledge sharing the articles dwell on various issues such as, the cross-site knowledge sharing in MNCs, social and environmental performance of MNCs , virtual communities for knowledge globalization, Indian society's expectations for responsible and ethical behavior from corporations, corporate social and environmental performance, and the analysis of emerging markets in developing countries. This study examines civil service pay and classification in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and developments in level and structures of employment and of pay there from 1977 to 1987. In that period, civil service pay came under increasing pressure in South Asia, leading to a weakening of the civil service's traditional role as the leading employer in terms of pay, conditions and job security.
