Heart in Stress
The presentations in this volume were carefully selected to cover various aspects of the pathophysiology of stress-related heart diseases and novel areas for the treatment of these diseases. They focus on state-of-the-art techniques of myocardial preservation - that is, adapting hearts to stress so that they can cope with lethal stress. This may be the topic of the 21st century in this area, and the outstanding basic scientists, cardiologists and cardiac surgeons whose presentations make up this volume contribute greatly to the ongoing discussion.
