Research and Advanced Technology in Fire Safety
These proceedings include papers presented at the International Conference on “Research and Advanced Technology in Fire Safety” FireSafety 2017 which took place at University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain. During last decade, our research group organized several on-day events and, in this sense, the success of this conference is a tribute for that continued effort to exchange knowledge on this discipline between experts from all parts of the world. This congress represents an excellent “agora” for researchers and engineers to present and discuss new and innovative approaches. In addition, this event is a unique opportunity for Spanish-speaker scientific and technological community to receive them from top references. The need for expertise in this field is also increasing in this geographical context.

Outlooks and Insights on Group Decision and Negotiation
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Group Decision and Negotiation, GDN 2015, held in Warsaw, Poland, in June 2015. The GDN meetings aim to bring together researchers and practitioners from a wide spectrum of fields, including economics, management, computer science, engineering, and decision science. From a total of 119 submissions, 32 papers were accepted for publication in this volume. The papers are organized into topical sections on group problem structuring and negotiation, negotiation and group processes, preference analysis and decision support, formal models, voting and collective decision making, conflict resolution in energy and environmental management, negotiation support systems and studies, online collaboration and competition, and market mechanisms and their users.
Scale-Up Processes
Common scale-up methods are conventional where the blind piloting is essential. This imposes huge investment and leads to failures mostly in solid processing. However, the limitations of resources, current shortcomings, short time-to-market demand are forced companies to minimize piloting. Freshwater Microplastics
This book is open access under a CC BY 4.0 license. This volume focuses on microscopic plastic debris, also referred to as microplastics, which have been detected in aquatic environments around the globe and have accordingly raised serious concerns. The book explores whether microplastics represent emerging contaminants in freshwater systems, an area that remains underrepresented to date. Given the complexity of the issue, the book covers the current state-of-research on microplastics in rivers and lakes, including analytical aspects, environmental concentrations and sources, modelling approaches, interactions with biota, and ecological implications. The Persianate World
