Iron Sky - The book based on the movie

Just before the end of World War II, the Nazis managed to reach the moon aboard huge flying disks, the so-called Reichsflugscheiben, and settled on the dark side of the moon. When they are discovered by an American moon landing in 2018, the Nazis decide that the time has come to reach out for world domination once more. The destiny of human kind rests on the shoulders of Renate Richter, a teacher who is deeply committed to Nazi ideology. However, after she arrives on Earth, Renate soon realizes that her entire life has been blinded by a lie. How is she supposed to stop her power hungry fiancé Klaus Adler and his gigantic space ship, the Götterdämmerung?

Race/Gender/Class/Media

The fifth edition of this popular textbook considers diversity in the mass media in three main settings: Audiences, Content, and Production. The book brings together 55 readings – the majority newly commissioned for this edition – by scholars representing a variety of humanities and social science disciplines. Together, these readings provide a multifaceted and intersectional look at how race, gender, and class relate to the creation and use of media texts, as well as the media texts themselves. Designed to be flexible for use in the classroom, the book begins with a detailed introduction to key concepts and presents a contextualizing introduction to each of the three main sections. Each reading contains multiple 'It’s Your Turn' activities to foster student engagement and which can serve as the basis for assignments. The book also offers a list of resources – books, articles, films, and websites – that are of value to students and instructors. This volume is an essential introduction to interdisciplinary studies of race, gender, and class across both digital and legacy media.

Iron Sky: Destiny - Nazis on the moon

The year is 1945. The Third Reich has unleashed, and subsequently lost the Second World War. Their home in Europe lies in ruins, and their dictator Hitler has escaped by means of suicide. However, some incorrigible Nazi soldiers, scientists and civilians make their way from a secret research station in Antarctica (Neu Schwabenland) to the moon. The moon? Yes, the moon. The so-called Reichsflugscheibe has been developed under utmost secrecy, and now the deluded, miserable remainder of a once considerable force hopes to build a future in space in order to establish the Fourth Reich on Earth one day. Author Ilsa von Braunfels wrote this short story as part of the IRON SKY universe, inspired by the movie of the same name. This small prequel to the main story of "IRON SKY - The Book to the Movie Phenomenon" takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the initial journey of the (future) moon-Nazis to their desired destination.

+++ Februar 1913. Erst ist es nur ein Gerü...
