In the texts, the authors analyse video performances created in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, both authored by themselves as well as by colleagues, encouraging a discussion about remote creative processes in performing arts mediated by videos. The project also involves a partnership between researchers from India and Brazil in the context of arts research.
An original, comprehensive system of theology especially apropos to the post-Christendom North American context In this scholarly work Paul Hinlicky transcends the impasse between dogmatic and systematic theology by articulating and arguing a single cognitive claim: God is the One who has determined to redeem the creation by the missions of his Son and Spirit. Deploying an unusual Spirit-Son-Father trinitarian scheme, Hinlicky treats the problem of the knowledge of God and the nature of the theological discipline, and he proceeds to carefully develop his system of theology through expansive, wideranging argumentation. Each main part of his work includes discussion of the ecumenical convergences in doctrine gained over the last generation and exploration of interreligious dialogues, especially with Judaism and Islam. Throughout the book, Hinlicky engages with other theologians -- particularly with Robert Jenson s Systematic Theology -- and concludes each major section with a discussion of an alternate perspective on the subject.
In this book Paul Hinlicky suggests that to the detriment of the church as a whole Martin Luther s legacy did not unfold as he himself would have hoped or expected. Paths Not Taken analyzes the unhappy fate of theology in the tradition of Luther through the pivotal early modern theological philosopher Gottfried Leibniz. Through this lens Hinlicky shows how the twofold intention of reforming the Church according to the gospel and providing a Christian philosophy of culture for a renewed Christendom diverged along the way. / In his conclusion Hinlicky considers three outstanding contemporary representatives of theology in Luther s tradition Pannenberg, Jngel, and Jenson and settles on a path to be taken by Lutheran theology after Christendom and after modernity.
The concept of secularization has grown to become one of the most important features of contemporary religious thought. This book introduces and examines the thinking of sixteen key theologions, philosophers and historians of religion to explain (a) why by the late nineteenth century the traditional concept of God as an ontologically real being came to be considered no longer necessary and (b) how the new perspective on God, which accepts him only as an idea, turned into the preferred approach of today’s religion and philosophy, namely “religious radicalism”.
