The work published in this third, and final, volume of Brill’s handbook on the tradition of the Book of Sentences breaks new ground in three ways. First, several chapters contribute to the debate concerning the meaning of medieval authority and authorship. For some of the most influential literature on the Sentences consisted of study aids and compilations that were derivative or circulated anonymously. Consequently, the volume also sheds light on theological education “on the ground”—the kind of teaching that was dispensed by the average master and received by the average student. Finally, the contributors show that Peter Lombard’s textbook played a much more dynamic role in later medieval theology than hitherto assumed. The work remained a force to be reckoned with until at least the sixteenth century, especially in the Iberian Peninsula. Contributors are Claire Angotti, Monica Brinzei, Franklin T. Harkins, Severin V. Kitanov, Lidia Lanza, Philipp W. Rosemann, Chris Schabel, John T. Slotemaker, Marco Toste, Jeffrey C. Witt, and Ueli Zahnd.

Generals in the Palacio

While there is considerable literature on civilian-military relations worldwide, there is as yet no study of the Mexican military. Despite their intense desire to remain unexamined, Camp's portrait of the Mexican military from 1946 to 1990 takes us inside their world to examine their values, relationships, backgrounds, education, and promotion patterns, and considers these findings in the context of Mexican society and politics. Camp provides fresh empirical data for testing claims concerning civil-military relations worldwide.

"[...] A heartfelt cry against terrible injustice and daily tragedy: how the everlasting physical injuries that severed their bodies affect these wounded people". An ongoing project of the most current photojournalism, like the infinite aftereffects caused by antipersonnel mines. Gervasio Sánchez has been working with victims of this scourge since September 1995, a job that has been running through most of his professional life. The devastation the mines cause is lifelong. The eleven victims in this project were selected randomly in African countries such as Angola and Mozambique; in Asian countries like Cambodia, Afghanistan, and Iraq; El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Colombia in Latin America; and European countries such as Bosnia-Herzegovina. "Gervasio knows we need the wounded voices if we hope to write the complete history. And to do so, it is vital to advocate, faced with the hate that mines, the courage that observes."
