So What Wisdom

Proverbs provides compelling answers to the questions “What is godly wisdom?” and “Why should one get it?” But at the end of one’s life, answers often address the past, not eternity. Godly wisdom allows one to thrive in a sinful world. However, Solomon’s teaching in Proverbs was limited as Jesus Christ had not yet entered the world. Old Testament wisdom established a pathway that would lead to a destination through the redemptive death and resurrection of the one who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) for all who believe in Jesus Christ. Without Jesus Christ as the embodiment of eternal godly wisdom, we are likely to slip into trying to apply the wisdom of Solo...

Brentwood

Brentwood Borough, established in 1915, spans one of the highest ridges in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, just six miles southeast of Pittsburgh. In the 19th century, three small villages, four inns, and several blacksmith shops clustered along the rural ridge. A popular and primitive roadway, now known as Brownsville Road, connected these three hamlets with the wider world. Many years later, the community established a 28-acre park, complete with shelter house and swimming pool, as well as the later additions of ball fields, ten...

Intimate & True

God’s truth is not complex; he intends us to understand it. His desire to expand the circle of relationship that existed within the Trinity from eternity past led him to create others like himself—people—who can join in this relationship of unspoiled intimacy. That’s the reason for creation, redemption, and the Christian life, now and future. Intimate and True explains the truth God has revealed and makes clear his desire for an intimate relationship with each of us. The Bible holds answers to the questions of our age.
