In this book Mir M. Ali writes about his life expounding his inspirational and captivating story of struggle, grief, and other life events. Coming from a coastal town of Bangladesh he relocated to America and eventually sought the fulfilment of the American Dream like many immigrants. He was profoundly influenced by Western intellectual impetuses and was transformed into a man of the East and the West joining them together with a figurative bridge. The book describes the many facets of his makeover and covers the breadth of history, politics, international affairs, culture, and his career and family. He writes: "The East and the West can learn from each other. Our global society needs to sustain both. I know I can live with and love both Bangladesh and America. May God bless both America and Golden Bengal. In my mind I can travel freely over the invisible bridge spanning the East and the West whenever I want and can see dreamers at both ends."
