This book presents a compilation of selected papers from the first International Conference on Big Data Analysis and Deep Learning Applications (ICBDL 2018), and focuses on novel techniques in the fields of big data analysis, machine learning, system monitoring, image processing, conventional neural networks, communication, industrial information, and their applications. Readers will find insights to help them realize more efficient algorithms and systems used in real-life applications and contexts, making the book an essential reference guide for academic researchers, professionals, software engineers in the industry, and regulators of aviation authorities.
This book presents a current review ofphotonic technologies and their applications. The papers published in this book are extended versions of the papers presented at the Inter national Conference on Applications ofPhotonic Technology (ICAPT'96) held in Montreal, Canada, on July 29 to August 1, 1996. The theme of this event was "Closing the Gap Between Theory, Developments and Applications. " The term photonics covers both optics and optical engineering areas of growing sci entific and commercial importance throughout the world. It is estimated that photonic tech nology-related applications to increase exponentially over the next few years and will play a significant role in the global econo...
This book brings together a total of 48 contributions (including 5 keynote papers) which were presented at the 2nd International Workshop on the Application of X-ray CT for Geomaterials (GeoX 2006) held in Aussois, France, on 4-7 October, 2006. The contributions cover a wide range of topics, from fundamental characterization of material behavior to applications in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. Recent advances of X-ray technology, hardware and software are also discussed. As such, this will be valuable reading for anyone interested in the application of X-ray CT to geomaterials from both fundamental and applied perspectives.
Most of the progress in cardiac energetics in recent years has been spurred by the pressure-volume area concept, the natural extension into energetics of earlier pioneering work delineating the time-varying elastance framework for ventricular contraction. The book draws together a broad spectrum of researchers - basic, applied and clinical - having a shared interest in the energetics of cardiac muscle and ventricle, providing an overview of the current state of the art.
My personal interest in cardiac Dopplerarose from longexperience in diagnos ing carotid artery disease using Doppler continuous wave ultrasound with fre quencey spectral analysis. The work of Dr. Liv Hatle of Trondheim, who was then using analogue tracings for cardiac Doppler, inspired me to try CW Doppler combined with spectral analysis and high-pass filtering techniques. The results with this system, without benefit of standard echocardiography were so pro ductive that a special instrument was produced by Carolina Medical Electronics for worldwide marketing. Our experience led to the development of an interna tional symposium and training program. These symposia gave birth to the Inter nat...
