Esta obra reúne, desde una perspectiva eminentemente docente, los textos jurídicos que, en lengua española, consideramos más relevantes en relación con el sistema de normas y principios que regulan las actividades marítimas en y de la Unión Europea dentro del ámbito de las competencias que sus Estados miembros le han atribuido. Esto es, lo que conocemos como el Derecho de la Unión Europea del mar, que, desde los años 70 del pasado Siglo, se ha desarrollado de una manera continua y rápida. Igualmente, se recoge la jurisprudencia del Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea dónde se examinan disposiciones contenidas en estos textos, y se proporciona una bibliografía dónde se enumeran trabajos doctrinales que los analizan.
