The Morris Township Municipal Records Collection contains the township's records from different departments of the municipal government. While not as complete or comprehensive as the Morristown Municipal Records Collection, it is also composed of historically significant 19th and 20th century records originating from various town agencies including: the Township Committee, the Board of Adjustment Department, the Planning Board, the Finance Board, and the Police Department, which are the five series the collection is arranged into. The collection shows the growth of government involvement and spending over time. The whole collection contains some of the township's oldest government records, however, the bulk of the materials date from 1940-1970.
