Uno de los factores que más está influyendo en el contexto socio-educativo de los países de Occidente, es la inmigración, cuya integración en las sociedades de acogida es uno de los grandes retos contemporáneos. En este sentido, resulta indudable que un fuerte elemento integrador es el uso de la lengua o lenguas empleadas en la comunidad de asentamiento.
