The Net Bible Synopsis of the Four Gospels

The Net Bible Synopsis of the Four Gospels

A synopsis is a tool which displays different passages of a text side by side for comparison. This is most commonly done with the four Gospels of the New Testament because of their similar material, but it could reasonably be done with any text that has similar passages, such as the Old Testament historical narratives. The synopsis you presently hold contains the four Gospels of the New Testament. It is different from comparing parallel versions, such as one English translation to another, because all of the passages displayed in this synopsis are from the same version, the NET Bible. It is different from a harmony because the passages are not reorganized into one story; each Gospel in a synopsis is separate from the others and can be read by itself or in comparison with the others. This parallel arrangement enables fruitful comparison of the Gospels to each other so each may be understood well on its own in light of the others.

A New English Translation of the Septuagint

The Septuagint (the ancient Greek translation of Jewish sacred writings) is of great importance in the history of both Judaism and Christianity. The first translation of the books of the Hebrew Bible (plus additions) into the common language of the ancient Mediterranean world made the Jewish scriptures accessible to many outside Judaism. Not only did the Septuagint become Holy Writ to Greek speaking Jews but it was also the Bible of the early Christian communities: the scripture they cited and the textual foundation of the early Christian movement. Translated from Hebrew (and Aramaic) originals in the two centuries before Jesus, the Septuagint provides important information about the history...

Press into the Power

Pressing into the Power takes you on a journey through the bondage of impossibilities and safely guides you to the realm of divine possibilities. Derek L. Calhoun, a duly consecrated and ordained bishop, laments the fact that we’ve become a society that struggles to discern right from wrong. He also observes how the COVID-19 pandemic, George Floyd protests, and the Jan. 6, 2021, riot in Washington, D.C., have led many to lose hope—just like the Israelites in the days of Jonathan. But he contends the pandemic and other life-altering events were not a call to run and hide. They were a call to regroup and rise out of the ashes of obscurity. This book examines the power of forgiveness, the l...

Quitting, Not an Option

If you want to discover who you are, who you are meant to be, and who God has called you to be, you cannot quit. In life, you will face opposition, but in the face of opposition, quitting is not an option. Do not quit! God has a plan for your life. You are valuable to Him and to those He has placed around you. He loves you and He wants you to succeed and win in life. If you quit, you will never see the end of a matter. When you quit, you stop developing; you stop going forward; you stagnate. You stay the same year after year. If you quit, you will not reach your full potential. You will not reach your destination if you quit. You will not see what you could have or should have been. In quitting, you not only forfeit your God given potential, you forfeit your opportunity to impact the lives of others. If you want to have an impact, you cannot give up. If you want to go where no one has ever been and do what others have not done, you cannot quit.

CSB Day-By-Day Chronological Bible, Navy Leathertouch

The CSB Day-by-Day Chronological Bible features a narrative approach to the Bible, arranging the full text into a clear chronological reading plan with daily readings guided by Dr. George Guthrie. In this unique plan, the books, chapters, and verses of the Bible are organized for readers in three main acts to track the story of Scripture from beginning to end. This format is designed to draw readers into the biblical narrative, helping them apply it in their own lives. Unlike most other chronological Bibles, this arrangement is not date-specific (e.g. "January 1"), so you can jump into the plan at any point in the calendar year. FEATURES 52 weeks of readings (six readings per week) in chrono...
