Excerpt from The New Sydenham Society: Retrospective Memoranda; Subject Index and Index of Names The Society commenced its first issue in 1859. Its last was completed in 1907. If it had continued its work for two years longer it would have accomplished its half century. I have been requested by my colleagues, Viz. The forty-ninth Council of the New Sydenham Society, to put together a few memoranda as to its career. They are written as an informal introduction to the classified catalogue of its works which is subjoined.
