Optimierungsdruck im Kontext von Migration
Niels Uhlendorf untersucht den Optimierungsdruck auf Migrantinnen und Migranten, dem diese sich nach ihrer Ankunft in Deutschland ausgesetzt sehen. Am Fallbeispiel von jungen, bildungserfolgreichen Deutsch-Iranerinnen und -Iranern arbeitet er mit einer Verbindung aus Diskursanalyse und Biographieforschung die teils widersprüchlichen Optimierungsanforderungen und ihre individuell-biographischen Verarbeitungen heraus. Während einerseits oft hohe Erwartungen seitens der Ankunftsgesellschaft an Migrantinnen und Migranten formuliert werden, ist es aufgrund von Diskriminierungserfahrungen zugleich häufig schwierig, sich erfolgreich zu etablieren.

Vom Heim nach Hause: Herstellungsleistungen von Familie bei Rückkehrprozessen aus stationären Erziehungshilfen
Fremdunterbringung in stationären Erziehungshilfen und Rückkehr ins Familiensystem stellen Jugendliche und deren Familien vor gravierende Transformationsherausforderungen. Dabei geht es um Zugehörigkeiten und Abgrenzungen, relative Autonomie und relative Abhängigkeit. Die Autorin geht basierend auf einem qualitativen Forschungsprojekt der Frage nach, wie Familienmitglieder Rückkehrprozesse erleben und dabei ‚Familie(n)‘ laufend herstellen. Sie analysiert die Wechselwirkungen der Handlungen, Gefühle und Erklärungen von jungen Menschen und Eltern in Zusammenspiel mit den Aktivitäten der Fachakteur*innen sowie den rechtlich codierten Strukturen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe. In der empirisch und theoretisch ausgerichteten Arbeit werden wichtige Diskussionen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfeforschung mit aktuellen Konzepten der Familienforschung verknüpft. Insbesondere wird ein relationales Modell zu Sorge/Care in privater Verantwortung und in Strukturen der Interventionen der staatlichen Kinder- und Jugendhilfe entwickelt. Darüber hinaus werden Anregungen für die Praxis zur Verfügung gestellt.
Deschooling as a Taboo Transgression
With the realization of familial deschooling in Germany, the so-called social movement of the ,Freilerner’ transgresses a taboo and is therefore under enormous pressure to justify itself. Following on from this, the reconstructive study asks what latent structures of meaning underlie the subjective crisis scenarios about the schooling of children and the ideal concepts of parents in the sense-giving justification of the family deschooling practice. In the course of this, three types of the justification for the familial practice of deschooling, namely defending, charismatizing, and escaping, are empirically established. In this way, the study not only makes an empirically based contribution to a more reflective discourse on alternative educational practices, but also pushes itself into a taboo zone of school pedagogy and educational research in Germany. Because it addresses the school as a historically consolidated, but not as an organization without alternatives for learning and educational processes of children and adolescents.

Pädagogik als Sorge?
The new issue of the Jahrbuch erziehungswissenschaftliche Geschlechterforschung (Yearbook of Gender Studies in Education) focuses on the significance of care for education. While care is receiving increasing attention in educational science, there is a lack of gender-theoretical foundations. The volume offers analyses of the connection between care and pedagogy from the perspective of educational gender studies, therefore contributing to closing this research gap.
