The chase continues as Akielas tries to find the remnants of the dragon gods before the Specters do. Two of his friends have already fallen to the Specters and the chaos rages on. The burden grows on Akielas’s shoulder and now he seeks help from a demigod who lives in a city in the sky. Akielas believes that only Caim, the demigod, can put an end to the Specters but the demigod is reluctant. While Akielas tries to coax Caim, his friends seek ancient power and lost magic. Elvis Presley musicals, beach romps, biker flicks, and alienated youth movies were some of the most popular types of drive-in films during the sixties. The actresses interviewed for this book (including Celeste Yarnall, Lana Wood, Linda Harrison, Pamela Tiffin, Deanna Lund, Diane McBain, Judy Pace, and Chris Noel) all made their mark in these genres. These fantastic femmes could be found either twisting on the shores of Malibu, careening down the highway on a chopper, being serenaded by Elvis, or taking on the establishment as hip coeds. As cult figures, they contributed greatly to that period of filmmaking aimed at the teenage audience who frequented the drive-ins of America. They frolicked...
LUCY GAMBLE, KNOCKED UP BY DYING MAN SHE GAVE SYMPATHY SEX, NOW MOVING ON TO HIS BIG BROTHER. Have you ever tried to come up with a headline for your life? Well, mine’s so cringeworthy I can’t believe it’s actually my story...or a hundred percent true. But honestly, how could I say no to the one-night-stand when he begged? Only a monster could deny someone their dying wish, right? I mean, okay, getting pregnant from the encounter was a regrettable, irresponsible mistake; I can fully admit that. Turning to his brother, however, was never part of the plan. Initially, I didn’t even like the guy. Except Vaughn Merrill is a force to be reckoned with. He’s determined to be an “involved” uncle, and no matter how much I tell him he doesn’t have to be so helpful, he’s just so freaking helpful. And gorgeous. Plus not at all the ass I assumed he was. Then there’s this massive pain and grief and loneliness I see in his eyes. I just want to hug him constantly and give him the sense of family he so desperately needs. So really, can you blame me for falling for the one man I know I shouldn’t?
Linda first shared her biography the year her granddaughter was born. This new life made her reflect about the battles she had fought and the weapons she had used. Were they the proper ones? A result of culture? Was anyone hurt? While pondering, she also wanted to inspire other women sharing her adventures. A simple shack in the outback of Brazil was her birthplace. Linda grew up as a happy and hyperactive child and started working when she was seven years old to help the family’s survival. However, with ten children who survived, the family was forced to give some of the girls away to other homes as young maids. Linda was sent to a city when she was 13, spending her adolescence submitted ...
"When Swedish-born Linda McGurk moved to small-town Indiana with her American husband to start a family, she quickly realized that her outdoorsy ways were not the norm. In Sweden children play outside all year round, regardless of the weather, and letting young babies nap outside in freezing temperatures is not only common--it is a practice recommended by physicians. In the US, on the other hand, she found that the playgrounds ... were mostly deserted ... Struggling to fit in and to decide what was best for her children, McGurk turned to her own childhood for answers. Could the Scandinavian philosophy of 'there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes' be the key to better lives for her American children?"--
